2022 BMW M4: Everything We Know So Far
2022 BMW M4 Domagoj Dukec, BMW’s head of design, recently assured us that the BMW 4 Series coupe’s tall and narrow grille will not be the new face of all upcoming BMW models.
However, Dukec noted that BMW also has no immediate plans to ditch the big maw 4. In fact, it will spread to other Series 4 models, including the upcoming i4 battery electric vehicle and the M4 sports coupe. Just see for yourself – the photo above shows a high-performance M4, looking long before its official debut.
Posted to Reddit, the image reveals that, like the mugs on the 430i and M440i coupes, the face of the M4 stands out because of its large nostrils. (Or a cleat, if you prefer.) While far from pretty, the M4 arguably pulls out better design details than its lower Series 4 relative.
Give credit to the car’s widened front fenders, horizontal grille blades, and a special M bottom fascia which includes a small front splitter and complementary vertical input blade.

BMW has made it clear that the M-tuned AWD will differentiate the new M3 sedan and M4 coupe from their predecessors. However, a sports model may not win all drag races until the 2022 model year.
Both the M3 and M4 will make their debuts next month. However, documents obtained by Bimmer Post indicate they will still be driving from behind. The XDrive will only be available after going into production in July 2021.
The cars wouldn’t have broken without AWD, but two extra cogs would make Bimmer unbeatable in this class. The RS4 / 5 makes less power and the C 63 struggles to provide power with a rear-drive configuration.
Frankly speaking, the decision was confusing. In the past, BMW had a “we know better” attitude towards powertrains. They turned off the manual model and moved the M5 to AWD entirely. In fact, everyone believes the M3 / M4 will have the same configuration – M xDrive which can be turned off when you want to burnout.
This suggests BMW thinks there is still a big demand for its RWD models, which may well be true. However, we’re struggling to figure out how these cars will handle the 503 horsepower out of the competition pack when the old M3 just can’t get the 424 horsepower down properly.
On the other hand, there are several advantages here. Lighter cars tend to be more agile, and the AWD is known for its indulgent steering feel, which BMW has not had on some of its past M cars. And with new features arriving nearly a year later, interest in both models will be extended without the need for special editions.

2022 BMW M4 Redesign
The BMW M4 2021 is arguably one of the most radical redesigns in the company’s storied history. Not only is the two-door version of the all-new BMW M3 featuring a completely different bodywork, including a playfully large interpretation of the famous kidney grille, the M4 is also very powerful and looks to erase any performance records held by its predecessor.
BMW has also stuck to its roots by continuing to offer manual transmissions on the latest generation. While stick-shift won’t be available on the 503-hp M4 Competition, a rear-bias all-wheel-drive system that includes a rear-drive-only mode for ass-out antics and a different kind of driving behavior will.

While the M4 2021 looks like a very interesting reinterpretation, we have to manage our anticipation and save our final evaluations until we can release it on our test path.
The M4 2021 is all new and represents the second generation of nameplate. However, it has basically replaced the old M3 coupe. While there is much ado about its large and controversial kidney grille, the new M4 has several impressive improvements over the previous version.
2022 BMW M4 Specs
We haven’t officially seen the BMW M4 coupe 2022 (or its M3 sedan sibling) yet, although a sample photo found recently leaked and we’ve already seen the latest 4 Series coupe on which the M4 is based.
As you can see from the images here, BMW still hasn’t shown the world what the new M4 looks like – but it proudly shows off the high-performance Series 4 variant in camouflage attacking the Sachsenring racetrack, as well as reminding everyone that the two-door turnt is once again. will offer a manual transmission in a new video.

BMW wants to remind everyone that this coupe will come in two performance variants: the 473-hp basic and the 503-hp Competition. The automaker implies that the manual transmission will only be available on non-Competition models, which will exclusively use an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Unlike the previous M4, which was rear-wheel drive, this new model will offer xDrive all-wheel-drive sometime after the car is launched. BMW has also revealed that there will be a higher-performance M4 GT3 racecar that will effectively complement the M4 range by 2022.
Not much else to say. Are we pleased that the new BMW M4 continues to offer manual, the type of transmission that quickly fades away from the fast-paced car? Right. Are we excited to try the new M4, its own six-speed manual option? It’s really a double.

2022 BMW M4 Interior
Although the M4 has the same interior layout and passenger space as the regular 4 series, it offers a variety of unique materials and several race-inspired options. The thick-rimmed steering wheel has a pair of red buttons for the M-adjustable drive mode.
The cabin can also be upgraded with cut carbon fiber trim and long paddle shifters mounted on the steering column. The standard M sports seat is substantially supported and has a lit logo, integrated headrests, and can be had with ventilation for the first time on an M4.
The optional carbon fiber front seat not only looks really cool, but it’s also lighter than the standard seat and can be lowered further. While the rear seats will definitely not be as spacious as on the M3 sedan, thankfully that space isn’t torture room on the previous M4 and the new one offers an extra inch of legroom.

Every M4 is equipped with a slick-looking infotainment system that has a large 12.3-inch touch screen. It has a myriad of control options that allow the user to adjust settings and navigate the menu via voice commands, buttons on the steering wheel, and large rotary controllers and buttons on the center console. The M4 system comes standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the Harman Kardon audio system.
Those looking for fancier features can choose from popular options such as gesture control, subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspots, and wireless charging pads.
2022 BMW M4 Engine
Behind the gaping M4 maw, look for the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six of the BMW X3 M and X4 M models to lurk between the front wheels. As in its crossover family, this engine will produce 473 horsepower in the standard M4 and 503 ponies in the even hotter Competition specification of the M4.
While the four-cylinder 430i and six-cylinder M440i rely heavily on an eight-speed automatic to push power to the drive wheels (for now), the M4 will retain the manual transmission option for the rear-wheel-drive model. Even so, the fastest M4 will definitely use the available automatic gearbox – possibly an eight-speed unit – and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
Undoubtedly, the dynamic competence of the new M4 should overcome its design flaws. Well, at least we hope so.
The M4 is motivated by a dual-turbo 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine which comes in two potentials. The standard version produces 473 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. This pairs with rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission.
The Competition Model makes 503 horsepower and 479 lb-ft, but the single transmission option is an eight-speed automatic. While the M4 Comp will initially only be offered with rear-wheel drive, BMW will eventually offer a rear-bias all-wheel-drive system.
Each M4 is equipped with an adaptive damper, adjustable brake pedal feel, and an electronically controlled exhaust system that gets louder in Sport and Sport Plus drive modes. The loudness level can also be lowered at any time by pressing the M Sound button. T

2022 BMW M4 GT3
BMW Motorsport won’t replace the M6 GT3 until the 2022 racing season, but the all-new M4 GT3 is already out on the roads to increase its development miles. 2022 BMW M4 Price and Release Date
